Dec. 5, 2024 — Publix Super Markets presented Jacksonville Division District Manager Jeff Thompson with the 2024 President’s Award at the company’s annual retail operations conference in Orlando, Florida.
Jeff works hard every day to lead and inspire his team. He is focused on associate development and fostering an environment where our customers want to return time and time again.
“Because of our associates, our customers trust us with not only their daily shopping trips but also those special occasions and memorable moments,” said Jeff. “I have the privilege of mentoring a diverse group of associates who play a part in our company’s future growth and success.”
Jeff said receiving this award has been the biggest honor of his career. He’s proud to be able to represent his team and looks forward to continuing to lead them to success.
“My goal is ensuring everyone feels valued and included,” said Jeff. “This not only allows us to be an effective team, but it also allows us to better serve our customer base.”
About the honoree
Jeff began working for Publix in 1991 as a front service clerk in Orange City, Florida. He held various positions in the grocery department before becoming an assistant store manager in 2005 and a store manager in 2008. Jeff was promoted to district manager in 2019.
About the President’s Award
The President’s Award is one of the company’s most prestigious awards. It honors one district manager from each of the company’s five divisions and one support manager who are committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In addition, the recipients must be role models to others by demonstrating exemplary leadership.
Jeff joins Atlanta Division District Manager Tammy Quirion, Charlotte Division District Manager Stuart Osha, Lakeland Division District Manager Chris Gordon, Miami Division District Manager Kevin Donlan and Manager of Associate Diversity & Inclusion LaTarsha Melvin as this year’s President’s Award recipients.
