Dec. 5, 2024 — Publix Super Markets celebrated the 2024 Jacksonville Division George W. Jenkins Award recipient, Store Manager Jason Parrish, Ocala, Florida, at the company’s annual retail operations conference in Orlando, Florida.
Jason is a servant leader who takes the time to connect with his associates and supports a diverse workforce. He invests in his associates, prepares them for future growth and celebrates their successes.
“I encourage my team to always do the right thing and to prioritize clear communication,” said Jason. “I try to build an environment where my associates can be creative problem-solvers.”
Jason is honored to receive this award. He is focused on his goal of helping his team continue to succeed, and this award motivates him to keep pushing forward.
“Becoming a store manager was exciting for me because it gave me the opportunity to have an even larger impact on the lives of my store’s associates,” said Jason. “It is a great responsibility, but my team’s success is my greatest reward.”
About the honoree
Jason started his career in 2000 as a grocery clerk and worked his way up through the grocery department before becoming an assistant store manager. In 2013, he was promoted to store manager in Hudson, Florida. Today, he is a store manager in Ocala, Florida.
About the George W. Jenkins Award
Named after Publix’s founder, the George W. Jenkins Award is one of the company’s most prestigious awards. It is presented to one store manager from each of the company’s five divisions and one support area manager who exemplify leadership, perpetuate the Publix culture and demonstrate their commitment to his ideals. As part of the award, each recipient is presented with a special green Publix jacket, marking them as members of this deserving group of honorees.
Jason joins Atlanta Division District Manager Kayla Dean, Charlotte Division Store Manager Dan Ratchup, Lakeland Division Store Manager Steve Ellis, Miami Division Store Manager James Gooze, and Director of Emerging Business & Private Brands Karen Hall as this year’s George W. Jenkins Award recipients.
