Nov. 13, 2025 — Publix Super Markets presented Lakeland Division District Manager Steve Micheli with the 2025 President’s Award at the company’s annual retail operations conference in central Florida.

Steve is described as a leader who consistently embodies the values and principles established by company founder, George Jenkins. He is committed to associate development, operational excellence and supporting his teams.

“I am honored to work for a company that invests in creating opportunities for all associates,” said Steve. “Being able to be a part of the success of our company and my associates is important to me.”

For Steve, receiving this year’s Lakeland Division President’s Award was deeply humbling. He said that being a part of the group of amazing leaders who have previously received this award means so much to him.

“I always try to interact with each associate I come across to help them grow,” said Steve. “George Jenkins created this great company and gave us all such an important responsibility and opportunity as company owners.”

About the honoree

Steve began working for Publix in 2003 as a dairy clerk in Naples, Florida. He held various positions in the grocery department before becoming an assistant store manager in 2005 and a store manager in 2008. Steve was promoted to district manager in 2013.

About the President’s Award

The President’s Award is one of the company’s most prestigious awards. It honors one district manager from each of the company’s five divisions and one support leader who actively perpetuate a culture of inclusion, foster a sense of belonging, and champion the development and advancement of all associates. In addition, the recipients must be role models to others by demonstrating exemplary leadership.

Steve joins Atlanta Division District Manager Jeff Jeup, Charlotte Division District Manager Mike Jelenc, Jacksonville Division District Manager Kelly Wilson, Miami Division District Manager Charlie Uz and Director of Manufacturing Operations Brandon Haley as this year’s President’s Award recipients.
