April 14, 2026 — Publix honored Lakeland Division Store Manager Lisa McLoughlin with a 2026 Mr. George Community Service Award at the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting.
Lisa started getting involved with community programs at Publix through United Way. But her inspiration to give back began in her formative years.
“My dad instilled in me the importance of doing good things for other people, and if you can help someone out, you should,” said Lisa. “My grandmother left an amazing legacy. Her door was always open to others. My dad continues that legacy, and I hope to keep it going through my actions and inspire my children to do the same.”
Over the years, she has worked closely with several organizations on the Gulf Coast of Florida, including All Children’s Hospital, Tampa Bay Watch, March of Dimes and Hope Villages of America. But the most impactful work for her is through Ronald McDonald House because of what the organization does for families in need.
“I feel the most connected to this organization because the essence of what they do for families is leaving the door open for anyone in need,” said Lisa, who enjoys cooking for and eating with families at the facility. “They offer community and allow people like Publix associates to be part of that.”
When she was told she was being honored with this award, Lisa said she was beyond humbled.
“Service to others is second nature to me, and to be recognized for trying to follow in Mr. George’s footsteps is beyond any words I can say,” she said.
Moving forward, Lisa shared that she wants to be there for her family, her Publix family and her community when needed.
