Dec. 14, 2022 — Publix Super Markets recognized Manager of Warehousing Operations, Deerfield Distribution, Caven Morgan with the 2022 President’s Award at the company’s retail operations conference.

A strong believer in building Publix from within, Morgan motivates his associates to learn more and seek advancement within the company. Through his leadership, many managers have continued to move up in their careers, laying the groundwork for their future growth at Publix.

Morgan is extremely grateful to have spent so much of his career at Publix and attributes his success as a leader to learning from those who came before him.

“I remember when I first started working at Publix and my supervisor took the time to ask me what my career goals were,” said Morgan. “It made me feel like there was more to the company, and this became more than just a job to me — it turned into my career. That moment always resonated with me, that I was someone he saw potential in.”

By cultivating strong relationships with his associates and the business areas they work with, Morgan exemplifies the Publix culture. His care and appreciation for his associates encourages them to also perpetuate the Publix culture.

Upon being named this year’s President’s Award recipient for support, Morgan was humbled and honored.

“Out of many, we are one,” he said. “That is what One Publix, One Purpose means to me. We all come from many different backgrounds, but together, we have one purpose — to be the premier quality food retailer in the world.”

About the honoree
Morgan started with Publix in 1993 as a selector at the Miami high-velocity warehouse, holding various positions before being promoted to a front-line supervisor. After transferring to Deerfield Beach, Florida, he continued rising through the company before being promoted to his current role in 2010.
