Sept. 22, 2025 — On Sept. 6, we celebrated 95 years of Publix! The fun doesn’t stop there with our founder George Jenkins’s birthday happening on Sept. 29. To continue celebrating, Publix is thrilled to host a special tasting event.

Historical tasting event in September

You can taste history like never before on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., to celebrate Publix’s 95th anniversary and our founder’s birthday. You can sample these modern twists on our founder’s Southern favorites from each department.

• Bakery — Mini Vanilla Cupcakes, inspired by Jenkins’ fondness for a sweet treat.
• Deli — Popcorn Chicken, in honor of one of his favorite Southern foods.
• Grocery — Southern Banana Pudding Ice Cream, incorporates our founder’s love for fruits and the South.
• Meat — Brown Sugar-Glazed Honey-Cured Ham, another Southern delight that goes well with any side.
• Produce — Pecan Pralines, because of our founder’s love for mixed nuts.
