Manufacturing/Supply Purchasing is responsible for procuring ingredient and supply products for our Manufacturing facilities and retail stores. We depend on our suppliers to provide the high-quality products and expedient services our customers demand. We expect relationships with our suppliers to be based on professionalism, high ethical standards, and consistent and open communication.

Ingredient/Supply Product Categories

Our Dairy Plants process fresh milk and produce Publix brand bottled water, iced teas, fruit drinks, juices, cultured products such as yogurt and cottage cheese, extended shelf life beverages and carbonated beverages. They also produce Publix brand ice cream, which is consistently one of our most popular products!

Our Bakery Plants produce a variety of delicious baked goods, including dry mixes, icings, and fruit fillings; ready-to-serve products such as muffins, cupcakes, and cornbread; and frozen sweet goods, frozen rolls, frozen wire-cut cookies, and frozen pies that are ready to be baked in our stores.

Our Deli Kitchen produces a variety of fully prepared meats and salads according to Publix’s demanding quality standards.

Our Printing Services facility prints forms, labels, signs, and newsletters, produces electronic files for Publix’s weekly newspaper ads, engraves name badges for retail associates, and handles corporate photography needs.

Our Produce Snacks Plant produces a variety of tasty treats including trail mixes, dried fruits and vegetables, and our ever-popular chocolate-covered peanut butter pretzels.

Our Fresh Kitchen produces Grab & Go items such as sandwiches, mini platters, meals, sides, and entrees, as well as sub kits, for our retail stores.

Our Retail Stores need supplies and services which include all non-capital goods (grocery bags, cleaning chemicals, cleaning supplies, office supplies, packaging, merchandising aids, decorations, etc.), replacement parts for capital items in the stores and services (sanitation, floor care, uniform/linen services, etc.).

Procurement Schedule

Within the context of Publix's buying structure, Manufacturing/Supply Purchasing works on a specific procurement calendar that includes category reviews, sourcing events, and other procurement initiatives. These specific categories and related items are thoroughly reviewed and evaluated based on that schedule. When Publix identifies a category for review, Manufacturing/Supply Purchasing contacts relevant major suppliers that have registered with them for participation. Your information will be kept on file for future reference.
